Beginner and Improver Lessons
We are currently enrolling for our Beginners course.
Lessons will be available weekly on a Thursday as a fixed 8 week course - price $50 OR
on a session basis - price $10 per session for those wanting to brush up specific aspects of their game.
Each 2-hour session lasts from 9:30 am to 11:30 am
The 8-week course covers -
- Hand evaluation:
- High Card Points
- Distribution Points
- Losing Trick Count
- Bidding according to the Standard American bidding system:
- Bidding at the 1-level
- Pre-emptive Bidding at the 2-, 3-, 4- level
- Basic conventional bidding
- Play Strategies
- Strategising No Trump Play
- Strategising Trump Suit Play
- Typical tactics used to win tricks when playing contracts - including:
- Cross Ruffing
- Finessing
The course is intended to be constructivist in nature with each session involving extension of knowledge and skills developed in previous weeks.
Improvers
When no beginner's course is in progress, weekly sessions will be used for top up sessions on a demand basis.Interested in learning/improving?? Then:
